What’s up 20 Somethings!
So I’ve been using one of the products I got in the Clicks Curls Goodie Bag for the past week: the Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk, Leave-in Moisturizer.
When I looked at the bottle I was like, “What is “Hair milk” even?” So let me tell you a bit about this product and the Carol’s Daughter Brand!
Carol’s Daughter Brand:
The brand was started by Lisa, who is…wait for it… Carol’s Daughter. And the entire brand is dedicated to the relationship between mothers and their daughters. The brand was inspired by the mother-Daughter relationship that leads to the lifelong relationship with our hair, passed down from generation to generation.
Lisa started the brand in 1993 in her Kitchen in Brooklyn (Yes! It’s an American Brand) it was meant only for close family and friends, but everyone loved it so much, that soon the brand grew into the name it is today!
“Love is, and always will be, our first ingredient.” – Lisa
The Hair Milk:
⁃ it’s aimed to keep dry hair from resulting in frizzy curls.
⁃ It helps protect your hair from breakage, thirst and unmanageability.
⁃ It contains Shea Butter to Hydrate your curls.
⁃ Soybean oil has been added to soften and strengthen your hair.
⁃ It also has Agave Nectar to lock in moisture and keep hair extra healthy

My Opinion
When you squeeze it out of the bottle, it literally looks like Milk…and the best way I can describe it, is that it feels like rubbing love over your hair. You don’t need a lot of it, because it spreads through your hair so effortlessly, enriching every strand.
It’s got a very, very strong scent, that made my sinuses get all defensive, but once your hair dries, the scent neutralizes a bit and it’s actually quite pleasant.
The product does exactly what it says it will, my Hair was less frizzy and it feels and looks more moisturized. I just wish the frizz control lasted a bit longer because two days after my wash day, I can see the frizz creeping in again. But as a leave-in conditioner, it’s great because you don’t need to accompany it with anything else in order to have curls that look amazing.

Where can you get it?
The brand has just launched in South Africa and can be found at any Clicks store for R299 or on Takealot for R265.
So it’s on the pricey side. Honestly, are there other products that can give you the same results for cheaper? Yes. But Carol’s Daughter is Paraben free, petroleum free, contains no mineral oil and no artificial colors- so that should be considered when thinking about the price.
Have you tried Carol’s Daughter before? Let me know what you thought in the comments!
Byyyye!
